The workshop will explore risks to very young children including family dynamics, maternal wellness, atypical development, and community violence. Participants will learn the global impact of developmental trauma, early childhood adversity and prolonged, unaddressed stress.
This course aligns with the California Training Guidelines and Personnel Competencies for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health (2016): Area D: Risk and Resiliency (2 hours)
Learning Objectives:
• Define developmental trauma.
• List 3 risk factors common to infancy-preschool.
• List 3 risk factors that negatively impact infant and family well-being.
• Describe 2 strategies to mitigate the impact of toxic stress in infancy-preschool.
CE Credit: Attendance to this training series meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and/or LEP’s as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
