Real-Time Webinar-Integrating Nurturing Touch into Infant-Parent Therapy/Infant-Preschooler Mental Health (2 hr.)

This real-time webinar focuses on understanding the role of nurturing touch as an opportunity for attachment-building within a parent-child relationship. Attendees with learn the importance of parent-facilitated, nurturing touch to support attachment, regulation, and attunement.

Learning Objectives:

Identify 2 or more strategies to nurture the parent-child relationship through touch.

Describe least 2 nurturing touch techniques to promote emotional/behavioral regulation.

Goals:

Attendees will learn techniques to calm, soothe, and connect with infants, toddlers and preschoolers through nurturing touch, massage techniques, and yoga adaptations.

Attendees will gain confidence in explaining and supporting parents in integrating nurturing touch to support attachment and attunement.

Presenter: Julie Torok-Mangasarian, LMFT, RPT-S is a licensed marriage and family therapist, Registered Play Therapist/Supervisor, infant mental health specialist, reflective practice mentor and certified educator of infant massage (CEIM). Julie has advanced training through Y.O.G.A for Youth, Peaceful Babes Kids Yoga, and is a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider. Julie specializes in use of play, movement, and mindfulness to treat complex and developmental trauma in young children.

Who should attend: This is an intermediate level workshop designed for professionals working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers.

CE’s: Attendance to this training meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and/or LEP’s as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
