This course will review diagnostic systems for the 0-5 population. Additionally, linking assessment to appropriate diagnosis and intervention will be explored. This course will cover common challenges, misconceptions and concerns regarding psychopathology. Lastly, the link between diagnosis and qualification for early interventions will be discussed. 

This course aligns with the California Training Guidelines and Personnel Competencies for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health (2016): Area F-Diagnosis and Intervention (2 hours).

Learning Objectives: 

·      Identify 2 diagnostic systems specific for children 0-5

·      List at least 2 diagnostic considerations for young children

·      Identify 2 common challenges to diagnosing young children

CE Credit: Attendance to this training series meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s and/or LEP’s as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
