Pre-recorded Webinar: Integrating Yoga and Mindfulness in Therapy with Children (2hrs.)

This webinar will provide theory and activities to support professionals in integrating yoga, movement, meditation and mindfulness in their practice. Participants will learn yoga poses, meditation/mantras and mindfulness skills to build self-awareness and focused attention. Participants will learn strategies and approaches to support clients in soothing their nervous systems, become grounded in the here-and-now, and build resilience. This course will build professional confidence in using movement, mindfulness, and yoga to address common mental health challenges.  

 Learning Objectives:

š Identify 2 mindfulness techniques to address anxiety and depression

š Articulate how yoga techniques support self-regulation, self-awareness, and trauma healing. 

š List 2 strategies on integrating yoga and mindfulness in therapy practice. 

Presenters:

Julie Torok-Mangasarian, LMFT, RPT-S is a licensed marriage and family therapist and the Clinical Director of the California Psychological Institute in Fresno, CA. Julie is a Registered Play Therapist/Supervisor, infant mental health specialist, reflective practice mentor and certified educator of infant massage (CEIM). Julie has advanced training through Y.O.G.A for Youth (Kundalini Yoga-40 hours) and is a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider. Julie specializes in use of play, movement, and mindfulness to treat complex and developmental trauma in young children. 

Courtney MacDougall, BA, RYT 200: is the owner of Evergreen Yoga and Mindfulness. She has advanced training through Y.O.G.A for Youth (Kundalini Yoga-40 hours), Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and is a certified Kidding Around Yoga Instructor. Courtney has been working with children for 5+ years, teaching and supporting integrative health and wellness. Courtney has combined her passion for yoga and experience working in mental health and has created a curriculum designed to help children, adults and professionals.

Pre-Recorded Webinar: The Challenging In-Between: Supporting Adolescent Mental Health in a Tele-Health World (2 hr.)

This webinar offers participants the opportunity to learn about the adolescent brain and the impact of trauma on emotional functioning and interpersonal connections. The course will focus on building the participant's knowledgebase in engaging, connecting with and encouraging resilience in adolescent clients both in-person and through virtual platforms. This course will focus on utilizing an honest, authentic, and genuine approach to bridging the gap in the therapeutic relationship and within the parent-adolescent dyad.

Learning Objectives:

Identify 2 potential consequences of trauma on adolescent brain development. 

List 2 therapeutic activities for adolescents to promote engagement. 

Identify 3 strategies to build trust with adolescent clients and their primary caregiver(s). 

Explain the connection between the parent-adolescent dyad and resiliency.

Aniesha Kleinhammer, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist and the Program Supervisor of Counseling and Advocacy for Fleet and Family Support Center at Naval Air Station Lemoore. She is an Adjunct Faculty member at Brandman University in the Master of Psychology program and is a past President of the Central Valley Chapter of the California Association for Play Therapy. Aniesha specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and young adults who have experienced complex trauma. 

Pre-Recorded Webinar-Playfully Enhancing Resilience: Play Therapy in a Telehealth World (2 hr.)

This webinar will provide play interventions and activities to enhance resilience in young children and adolescents. Resilience, growth mindset and executive functioning will be reviewed. This intervention-heavy course will build professional confidence in using play therapy through Telehealth platforms.

Learning Objectives:

Explain the connection between play and resilience. 

Identify 2 play activities to promote resilience 

Identify 2 playful mindfulness strategies to promote a growth mindset

Pre-Recorded Webinar: Support Early Relationships: Attachment, Connections, and Caregiving in Infant Mental Health (2hrs.)


This webinar will explore family systems and dynamics, including cultural considerations during pregnancy and childbirth, and of parenting and childrearing. This course will also offer guidance on implementing family and attachment sensitive services and supports in IPMH practice. Additionally, the role of the professional in partnering and supporting families during the prenatal, postnatal, and early childhood period to improve mental health outcomes will be explored.

Learning Objectives:

• List the 4 attachment styles (healthy and unhealthy)

• Identify 2 factors common in healthy parent-child attachment

• Identify at least 1 intervention to support a healthy parent-child dyad.

• Identify 2 ways the professional can work toward maintaining cultural humility with families
